July 2014 eWISE Newsletter

Welcome to the July edition of eWISE.

Welcome to the July edition of eWISE. As you gather yourself at the start of the new financial year you probably have a long To Do list and a period of business planning ahead. This month's newsletter and our weekly blog posts will help keep you up to date with the latest case decisions and issues at the top of the risk management hit list. If better management of staff behaviour and workplace complaints is on your list, you may want to talk to us about our specialised training programs or our public courses. Check out our What's On section for upcoming events.

It's been a busy and interesting few weeks for us. MD Vince Scopelliti featured in HC Director this month with advice on avoiding legal action, and in June I presented a paper in Milan at the International Conference on Workplace Bullying. (The next biannual conference will be in Auckland NZ, in 2016.)

Both Vince and I will be attending AHRI's annual convention in Melbourne next month so if you're attending remember to come by and say hello!

The judge indicated that the sizeable payout should act as a deterrent to small businesses when it comes to making unreasonable demands and discriminating on the grounds of pregnancy.  Read full article here
